Wellington-based Studio Pacific Architecture is among the leading architectural practices in New Zealand. Founded in 1992 by Nick Barratt-Boyes, Stephen McDougal and Evzen Novak, Studio Pacific is a creative, multi-award winning practice with a broad range of expertise.
Studio Pacific has already had a strong influence on the Wellington waterfront including designing the Meridian Building and the Customhouse Building. Studio Pacific also has a strong practice in interiors including commercial office fit-outs.
Dunning Thornton is a leading Wellington-based structural engineering practice with extensive knowledge of the seismic and structural issues relevant to buildings in Wellington and expertise in multi-storey design. They have several consulting roles to MBIE on seismic technologies, and were part of the Royal Commission studies into the major building failures in Christchurch. They designed the Base Isolated Wellington Hospital, and are currently completing the National Containment Laboratory. Other recent high-profile but non-isolated buildings include Clyde Quay Wharf, One Market Lane and the nearby Meridian building.
The 20 Customhouse Quay development is being managed by Newcrest, an experienced commercial office investor and development manager, and the only company to have received the New Zealand Property Council’s supreme award three times.
Newcrest was established in 1991. Previous projects include the Waterloo on Quay apartments on Wellington’s waterfront and the KPMG, Vodafone, HP/Microsoft and NZI buildings in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour.
Through its investment group, Newcrest will retain 20 Customhouse Quay as a long term investment in partnership with the previous landowner. Newcrest will manage the building before and after completion.
